US stocks rallied ahead of the CPI data

US stocks rallied yesterday
On Monday the US stocks have gone significantly up.
The S&P 500 gained 1.43%, the Dow Jones has gone up by 1.58% and the Nasdaq closed at +1.26%.
Investors are looking ahead to today’s report about inflation.
Data to be released today
Today at 13:30 GMT are going to be released the US CPI (Consumer Price Index) data.
The Index is one of the most important measures to understand the level of inflation that the Fed is trying to fight.
The financial market can be very volatile today because of this.
Fed’s meeting tomorrow
Tomorrow, 14th December 2022, Jerome Powell will announce the next monetary policy move to reduce the high inflation.
FedWatch Tool – FED rates probabilities
72.3% of investors are expecting the FED to increase the interest rates by 0.50% tomorrow.
The remaining 27.7% are expecting a 0.75% rate increase.
The data show us that the number of investors expecting an increase of 0.75% is getting higher than in the previous days.
Portfolio Update
My portfolio allocation remains unchanged at the moment.
Overall, the majority of my positions are bullish (LONG).
I have a few short positions opened recently that I am monitoring and waiting for the right time to close or I could add more shorts if the price reverts to the downside.
Right now I am neutral on the stock market, as the price can go in any direction in the short term.
I am keeping my risk score low and I have some cash available on balance to use for new trades.
