Investors’ fears bring volatility to the US stock market

A good start to the week for Wall Street
On Monday, all three US major indexes registered a profit.
The S&P 500 finished at +0.31%, the Nasdaq ended the trading session at +0.63% and the Dow Jones closed at +0.22%.
The investors’ sentiment remains bullish, as indicated in the graph below:

The market sentiment is 61, in “Greed” mode, the same level as yesterday.
Investors’ fears bring volatility to the US stock market
US equities, which had faced their largest weekly decline in two months last Friday, gained small ground on Monday afternoon.
The reason behind the selloff was the worry about the next Federal Reserve action that could keep the interest rates high for a longer period than expected.
The US economic data are still strong despite the restrictive monetary policy implemented to reduce inflation.
The stock market is very volatile, as investors are betting on the interest rate to peak well above 5%, following the recent economic data and the hawkish Fed’s speeches.
What to watch today
Today at 15:00 GMT, the US Conference Board (CB) will be released for February.
This data measures the level of consumer confidence in economic activity.
It is forecasted to be at 108.5 up from 107.1.
Financial markets can be impacted, so there may be volatility.
